The MBA International and AUEB Energy & Sustainability Club had the honor of inviting Mr. Eddie Foster, General Director in Greece of URS Corporation and Mrs Stella Fox, Country Manager in Greece of URS Corporation, to share with i-MBA students their knowledge and experience on managing large scale infrastructure projects in Greece and abroad. The discussion took place on Friday, June 15th, during the course “Project Finance” conducted by Dr. Dimitris Psychogios.

Mrs. Stella Fox presented the structure and basic principles of the project finance process in large scale energy projects. Additionally, she referred to the different stages of engineering consulting and especially she shared with the audience her experience in Gas Fired Power Plant construction projects in Greece.

Mr. Eddie Foster covered the topics of modern trends in project finance/management and the role of Independent Engineer in a concession (E65 Kentrikis & Ionia Odos Concession Project). In addition, he explained the strategy of URS in large scale infrastructure projects referring to optimal procedures and practices, the different types of contracts (PPP and FIDIC) e.t.c. Finally, Mr. Eddie Foster described the challenges and innovations in the Diyar Al Muharraq Project in Bahrain.

In the end, on behalf of URS Corporation Greece, both Mrs. Fox and Mr. Foster congratulated MBA International and AUEB Energy Club for their commitment in innovation and experiential learning, bridging effectively the gap between business education and real-life challenges.
